How does the hand casting kit work?
1.Making the mould
– Mix the alginate with water
– Submerge the model (your hands) in the alginate and wait for it to set
-Gently wriggle the model free
2.Filling the mould
– Mix the stone plaster with water
– Pour the liquid into the mould
– Wait for the stone to set – 2-3 hours
3.The great reveal
– Slice and pull the alginate away from the finished product
– Smoothe small imperfecftions

What kind of containers to use
Mixing containers are NOT included
For making the mould – 5-litre container (a 5L bottle with the top cutt off works). To test the size of the container, fill it with 4.5 litres of water and submerge your hands like you would during the casting process.
For mixing the stone plaster – 3-litre container or larger
Note: The alginate is safe to mix in food bowls. The stone plaster, on the other hand, should be mixed in a non-food container. But it can be easily washed off when it is still in liquid form.
